Progress

We are gaining...  We have been scraping, painting,sanding... and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.  This is where we were a few days ago.
All hands on deck.  This is a family project so we are all pitching in :-)
My mom scraping the endless wallpaper.
Gross dusty mess.  Glad we haven't moved in yet but it is no wonder I have been coughing.
The original wall.  Plaster and lath with a cute little stencil.
Trying to collect all the different layers of paper.  This is 5 of the 14.
So here is our mystery.  Look what we found under all the paper.  Wonder if that is where the original phone was?  It's fun discovering things in an old house.
More to come.

The New Abode

In the middle of moving to a new town and trying to start my own business, we purchased a fixer upper.  Here are some before pictures of our new little cottage.  I still have no idea how a family of 4 with 2 dogs and a cat are going to fit in this house so stay tune....
The house.  Having grown up in a house with a big front porch, I had to have one!
The living room

The dining room.  There was 14 layers of wallpaper on these old walls!
The kitchen.  Oh the ideas I have for this room!
Here are just a few pictures of the house and yes there is some work to do. I will show you what we have gotten done so far in a few days. Can't wait until we can move in!

Well I did it!

I just got back from the bank...  I presented my business plan to start "My Painted Palace"  I found a great building in my home town and now I just need to wait and pray that all goes well.  I had a great feeling when I left my meeting.  I am on an adrenaline high as we speak.  This part is the worst process of starting a business, for me. I HATE asking anyone for anything so I have stepped WAY out of my comfort zone today.
I have so many plans and dreams to start this business.  I have folders of ideas and lists of products I want to display.
So here's to the start of my new business.  Wish me luck!
